일본 교토시가 숙박세 상한액을 현재 1박당 1000엔(한화 약 9200원)에서 최대 1만 엔(한화 약 9만 2000원)으로 무려 10배나 올릴 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

숙박세는 숙박료에 따라 다르게 부과되는데, 1박 요금이 10만 엔을 넘으면 최대 금액이 적용된다고 해요. 이 개정안은 다음 달 의회에 제출될 예정이고, 2026년부터 시행될 가능성이 높다고 합니다. 

교토시는 관광객이 많아지면서 환경 정비와 주민들의 생활 보호를 위해 이런 결정을 내린 거라고 전했습니다. 

Kyoto City in Japan has announced plans to increase the accommodation tax cap from the current $6.3 per night to a whopping $63 per night, a tenfold rise.

The tax will vary depending on the accommodation fee, and the maximum amount will apply if the nightly rate exceeds 100,000 yen. This revised plan is set to be submitted to the city council next month and could be implemented as early as 2026.

Kyoto explained that this decision was made to address the environmental impact of increasing tourist numbers and to protect the lives of local residents.

日本京都市宣布计划将住宿税的上限从每晚约46元提高到最高约464元，涨幅高达10倍。

住宿税的金额将根据住宿费用的不同而有所变化，如果每晚费用超过10万日元，将适用最高金额。修订方案预计下个月提交市议会，并可能在2026年开始实施。

京都市表示，这一决定是为了应对游客增加对环境的影响，同时保护当地居民的生活。
