The team developed artificial skin using gels that mimic real human skin, such as collagen and elastin, featuring small pores. This skin is notable for its ability to self-heal without the use of heat or pressure. One of the researchers explained, “This skin can heal small wounds and can perform sensory functions by adding nerves and other skin organs.” They also mentioned that their goal is to create thicker and more realistic skin, incorporating sweat glands, sebaceous glands, and blood vessels in the future.
