경찰과 소방 당국에 따르면, A씨(68)가 운전하던 제네시스 차량이 시청역 인근 호텔에서 빠져나와 일방통행 도로를 역주행하면서 근처 차량을 추돌한 뒤 인도로 돌진해 보행자들을 덮쳤습니다. 사고 당시 A씨는 음주 상태는 아니었던 것으로 조사됐으며, 급발진을 주장하고 있습니다. 이번 사고로 9명이 사망하고 4명이 다쳤으며, 사망자 중 6명은 현장에서, 3명은 병원 이송 도중 사망했습니다. 사고 현장에는 안전펜스가 있었으나 인명피해를 막지 못했습니다.

정부는 사고 소식을 접한 후 신속한 구조와 치료를 지시했으며, 경찰은 사고 경위와 원인을 철저히 조사할 계획입니다.

The vehicle collided with BMW and Sonata cars before veering onto the sidewalk and hitting pedestrians. It has been confirmed that A was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, and he claims that the car experienced sudden acceleration. The accident resulted in nine deaths and four injuries. Six of the deceased died at the scene, while three others died en route to the hospital. Despite the presence of safety fences at the scene, the tragic loss of life could not be prevented.

Upon receiving news of the accident, the government promptly instructed emergency measures for rescue and treatment. The police plan to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause and circumstances of the accident.
