오늘(18일)국내 대법원에서 동성 부부에게도 건강보험 피부양자 자격을 인정하는 판결을 내리면서 동성 부부의 사회보장 권리를 처음으로 인정한 사례가 나왔습니다.

동성부부인 김씨와 소씨는 법적인 혼인 관계는 아니었지만 2020년 2월 국민건강보험공단으로부터 피부양자 자격을 인정받았는데요, 그러나 같은 해 10월 해당 자격이 갑작스럽게 취소되었습니다.

이같은 판결에 대해 김씨와 소씨는 동성 부부라는 이유로 건강보험 피부양자 자격을 박탈당한 것은 부당하다며 소송을 제기했습니다.

긴 법정 공방 끝에 오늘(18일) 법원은 국민건강보험공단의 처분이 잘못되었다고 판결하며, 동성 부부도 사실혼 관계로서 건강보험 피부양자 자격을 인정받아야 한다고 밝혔습니다.

On the 18th, the South Korean Supreme Court recognized the social security rights of same-sex couples for the first time, ruling that they are eligible for health insurance dependents.

Kim and So, a same-sex couple, were not in a legal marriage but were recognized as dependents by the National Health Insurance Corporation in February 2020. However, their dependent status was abruptly canceled in October of the same year.

Kim and So filed a lawsuit, arguing that it was unfair to deprive them of dependent status because they were a same-sex couple.

After a long legal battle, the court ruled today (the 18th) that the National Health Insurance Corporation’s decision was wrong, stating that same-sex couples should be recognized as de facto marriages and thus eligible for health insurance dependents.

今天（18日），韩国最高法院首次承认了同性伴侣的社会保障权利，裁定他们有资格获得健康保险受养人的资格。

同性伴侣金某和苏某虽然没有合法婚姻关系，但在2020年2月被国家健康保险公司认定为受养人。

然而，同年10月，他们的受养人资格被突然取消。金某和苏某提起诉讼，认为因为是同性伴侣而被剥夺受养人资格是不公平的。

经过长期的法律斗争，法院今天（18日）裁定国家健康保险公司的决定是错误的，表示同性伴侣应被认定为事实婚姻，因此有资格成为健康保险受养人。
