미국 마이크로소프트(MS)의 클라우드 서비스 장애로 인해 한국 포함 전 세계적으로 항공편 결항과 방송 차질이 발생하고 있습니다.

현재 미국과 호주에서 항공편이 결항되고 주요 방송사와 이동통신사 운영에 문제가 발생한 것인데요, 독일 베를린 공항에서는 체크인이 지연되었으며, 영국 스카이 뉴스는 생방송을 진행할 수 없었다고 밝혔습니다. 또한, 한국에서도 같은 문제가 발생했습니다.

마이크로소프트는 “서비스 문제를 조치 중”이라고 밝힌 상태인데요, 일부 저비용항공사(LCC)의 발권과 예약 시스템도 마비되어 직원들이 수기로 항공권을 발급하고 있는 상태입니다.

이러한 상황이 전 세계에서 발생하는 이유는 일부 항공관리 시스템이 마이크로소프트의 클라우드 기반으로 운영되기 때문입니다.

The cloud service outage of Microsoft (MS) in the United States has caused flight cancellations and broadcasting disruptions worldwide.

Currently, flights have been canceled and major broadcasting and telecommunications operations have been disrupted in the United States and Australia. In Germany, check-ins at Berlin Airport have been delayed, and Sky News in the UK reported that they were unable to broadcast live.

Microsoft stated that they are “addressing the service issue.” In the meantime, some low-cost carriers (LCCs) have had their ticketing and reservation systems paralyzed, forcing staff to issue tickets manually.

These global disruptions are happening because some airline management systems are operated based on Microsoft’s cloud services.
