The Secret Service has advised former President Donald Trump to cease holding outdoor events following the July 13 shooting attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

This recommendation follows the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who stepped down after a congressional hearing on security failures. In her resignation letter, Cheatle acknowledged the agency’s shortcomings in protecting leaders and expressed her sorrow over the difficult decision.

Trump’s campaign has yet to issue an official response, but the Secret Service continues to strongly recommend halting outdoor events for his safety.
