메타는 “저커버그의 중요한 역할이 그를 더욱 위험에 노출시키기 때문에 이러한 보호가 필요하다”고 성명을 통해 밝혔는데요, “저커버그는 메타와 동일시되며, 회사에 대한 부정적 감정이 종종 저커버그에게 직접적으로 전이됩니다”라는 설명도 덧붙였습니다.

According to Fortune, Meta invests a massive amount of money to ensure the protection of Zuckerberg. In 2023, the company spent a total of $23.4 million on his personal security, with $9.4 million covering direct security costs, and the remaining $14 million provided as a pre-tax allowance for additional security-related expenses.
Meta stated that such protection is necessary due to the heightened risks associated with Zuckerberg’s crucial role. The company added, “Zuckerberg is synonymous with Meta, and negative sentiment towards the company often directly transfers to him.”
