앤디 재시(Andy Jassy) 아마존 대표는 모든 직원에게 보낸 메모에서 “2024년 1월 2일부터 주 5일 사무실 출근을 원칙으로 하는 새로운 정책을 시행할 것”이라고 밝혔는데요, 그는 “특별한 사정이 없거나 경영진의 허가가 없는 한 모든 직원이 주 5일 출근해야 한다”고 강조했습니다.
재시는 “사무실에서 함께 일할 때 더 큰 협업 효과와 학습, 그리고 기업 문화 강화가 가능하다”고 말하며, 오프라인 근무의 중요성을 강조했습니다.
아마존의 이번 정책 변경은 구글, 애플, 메타 등 다른 대기업들이 여전히 하이브리드 근무 체제를 유지하고 있는 상황에서 나온 것이어서 많은 관심을 끌고 있는데요, 특히 직원들 사이에서의 반발이 예상됩니다.
Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company, has decided to fully end the remote work policy that was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andy Jassy, the CEO of Amazon, announced in a memo to all employees that a new policy requiring employees to return to the office five days a week will go into effect on January 2, 2024. He emphasized that “all employees must come to the office five days a week unless there are special circumstances or approval from senior management.”
Jassy highlighted the importance of in-office work, stating, “When we work together in the office, we see greater collaboration, learning, and a strengthening of our company culture.”
