뉴진스의 하니가 출석해 관심을 끈 국회 환경노동위원회 국정감사에서 하이브 직원의 과로사 은폐 의혹이 제기되었습니다. 

한 국회의원은 김주영 어도어 대표에게 "하이브에서 직원이 쓰러져 병원으로 옮겨진 뒤 사망한 사건이 있었다는데 사실이냐"고 질문했으며, 이에 김주영 대표는 "2022년 9월 휴식을 취하겠다며 수면실에 갔다가 그분이 안타깝게도 쓰러지셨고, 며칠 후 질환으로 돌아가셨다"고 답변했습니다. 

하지만 의원은 “당시 하이브 직원들이 여러 아이돌 그룹과 해외 스케줄까지 동시에 처리해야 했으며, 밤낮없이 일하는 경우가 많았다”고 설명했는데요, 또한, 근로복지공단에 확인한 결과 산재 신청이 이루어지지 않았다는 점을 지적했습니다.

At the National Assembly’s hearing, allegations of covering up the death of a HYBE employee due to overwork were raised.

A lawmaker asked ADOR’s CEO Kim Joo-Young, “Is it true that a HYBE employee collapsed, was taken to the hospital, and later passed away?” Kim responded, “In September 2022, the employee went to the resting room to take a break but unfortunately collapsed and passed away due to illness a few days later.”

However, the lawmaker explained, “At the time, HYBE employees were handling multiple idol groups and overseas schedules simultaneously, working day and night without rest.” The lawmaker also pointed out that, after checking with the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service, no industrial accident claim was filed.
