The total stay time of an astronaut who has set a world record for the cumulative time spent in space has exceeded 1,000 days. Russian astronaut Oleg Kononenko, who is currently performing a mission on the International Space Station (ISS), has broken the previous longest stay of 878 days and continues to set new records daily. His return mission was extended due to an unexpected accident while heading back to Earth, allowing him to achieve this new record. In an interview with a media outlet, he said, ¡°There¡¯s this awareness that you have achieved something new and important, that you¡¯ve overcome a certain milestone, touched the unknown. It gives you confidence and pride in the work you¡¯ve done.¡±
